We are sure that many of you are struggling with the current crisis and we wanted you to know that we will do all we can to help

There are clearly no short term fixes and we are all going to have to get used to new working practices

Our staff have always had the ability to work remotely. With two offices in two different countries we have always been well prepared for this type of eventuality

Challenging and changing times call for innovative ideas

Although some clients will tragically have major issues, we know that that a large section of the economy needs to keep working, and will do so

For instance schools may have their sites closed, but they still need to be able to communicate with their students. Councils and other public services still need to communicate with the public, particularly with the elderly who may have no internet connection

We are working hard with our suppliers to think of new products, ideas, and methods for the changing times and will be providing information in due course

Impamark Christmas Shutdown 2019

Impamark will be closed Friday 20th December from 1.00 p.m. and reopening Thursday 2nd January at 9.00 a.m.

50th Anniversary LogoAs 2019 draws to a close we reflect on what has been for Impamark a momentous year.

2019 has been the 50th Anniversary of Impamark as a family run business. Currently located at Dammerwick Farm in Burnham on Crouch, the company moved their operations to the town in 1975, and have since been providing promotional products to a wide ranging and prestigious client list. I took over running the company back in 2006 on the retirement of my parents.

2019 Employer of the yearIn November, Impamark were extremely honoured to win the ACL (Adult Community Learning) Essex) Employer of the Year Award for 2019 – what better way to round off celebrations in our 50th Anniversary year as a family business!
We have been working with ACL for several years and we have now partnered with them to train two apprentices. Last year our apprentice Holly was awarded Apprentice of the Year whilst studying for her level 2 NVQ in Business and Administration, and this year she has been awarded Highly Commended for her level 3 NVQ. Impamark are immensely proud of her achievements, both with ACL and her other professional qualifications which she has passed in the 2 years she has been working for us, including her TPM (Trained in Promotional Merchandise) qualification.
Spain 50th CelebrationsWe operate from two bases, the first being in Essex, and for the past 12 years the second being in Spain. The staff all met in Spain in June for our 50th Anniversary celebrations and this is continuing with a further Christmas get together in Spain in December where we will all be attempting to extract ourselves from the ‘Sherlock Holmes versus Moriarty’ escape room!I believe that the reason for the company’s success is down to our great teamwork, extremely high level of customer care, and attention to detail. We have a great team, both in UK and Spain, with a wealth of industry knowledge and experience. I would like to thank our fantastic supplier base and loyal clients, many of whom we have worked with consistently for over 30 years, and look forward to working together for many years to come!
Chinese New Year 2019! Year of the RatWe would like to remind you all that Chinese New Year, (CNY) is 25th January which will mean that orders for delivery pre CNY will need to be placed before 20th December. Any ordered placed in December or early January will be delivered in March. In addition to this, we still do not know the effect of Brexit on the industry. Therefore, we strongly advise everyone to place orders in December and early January for events and requirements occurring in early 2020.

50th Anniversary for Essex based family run business

2019 sees the 50th Anniversary of Impamark as a family run business. Currently located at Dammerwick Farm in Burnham on Crouch, this award winning merchandise company moved their operations to the town in 1975, and have since been providing promotional products to a wide ranging and prestigious client list including University of Aberdeen, Essex Wildlife Trust, Harrow School, University College London, University of St Andrews, Rotary Watches, Scottish Scouts, Sandhurst Trust and Queen’s Club.

Originally started in North West London by David Thurgood in 1969, David and his wife Anne ran the company until their retirement in 2006. Their daughter Nicky Crisp joined the company in 1988, and her husband John in 2001. Nicky took over as Managing Director on the retirement of her parents, and in 2007 Nicky & John set up their second office in Spain where they are currently based.

Nicky commented “Over the years we have supplied commemorative souvenirs for the Royal Wedding in 1981, sponsored the Rugby World Cup in 1991, produced Jubilee Coins to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, and again for her 90th Birthday Celebrations in 2016. With more than 30 years experience supplying the MoD and Armed Forces, Impamark holds an official licence to produce their merchandise”

Impamark has been a member of the Advantage Catalogue Group for several years and has consistently been ranked in the Sourcing City top 25 Distributor of the Year Awards. They have also been accredited members of their Industry Association (BPMA) for over 10 years.

Impamark are extremely well known within Essex for supporting local charities and sponsoring events within the community, and have been Silver Corporate members of Essex Wildlife Trust for several years. In the past 18 months, Impamark has moved to a much more enviro and eco friendly stance internally, together with providing a wide range of eco and environmentally friendly merchandise. In January last year Impamark launched their “Happy Turtle brand”, to reflect this positive change of direction.

In celebration of the momentous 50 year milestone the staff flew to Spain for a weekend to enjoy a relaxing time together, some fun in the sun, and ‘Fiesta’ Spanish style.

Nicky believes that the reason for the company’s success is down to their great teamwork, extremely high level of customer care, and attention to detail. She said “We have a great team, both in UK and Spain, with a wealth of industry knowledge and experience. I would like to thank our fantastic supplier base and loyal clients, many of whom we have worked with consistently for over 20 years, and look forward to working together for many years to come!”

CHRISTMAS SHUTDOWN 2018 – CLOSED FRIDAY 21ST DECEMBER FROM 1.00 P.M. AND REOPENING WEDNESDAY 2ND JANUARY AT 9.00 A.M.

2018 has been a very interesting year for us at Impamark.

At the beginning of the year we launched our Happy Turtle logo with the strapline “Our solution is less pollution”. This reflects our move to a more environmentally friendly stance, and we hope this will assist in raising the world wide issue of plastic pollution. We are actively focusing on more environmentally friendly promotional merchandise and promoting to our clients where possible. In addition we are Corporate members of the Essex Wildlife Trust and in August we joined the WWF’s campaign by adopting a turtle.

In September 2017 Holly joined us as an apprentice studying for her NVQ level 2 in Business Administration. We are immensely proud that in September this year she won Apprentice of the Year at the ACL Awards.

Holly has also been studying for her TPM qualification (Trained in Promotional Merchandise), and she takes her exam in December. This is an industry standard training organised by the BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association), of which we have been members for over 10 years.

In addition, Will, our IT Support Technician having completed level 3 and level 4 BTEC qualifications as part of his apprenticeship, has also completed his TPM qualification earlier this year.

As a team we have visited clients this year across the UK from the West country to Scotland. In April we held our fourth client day entitled ‘The Power of Brand’ at Five Lakes Hotel near Colchester which was attended by clients from all across the UK. We had over 30 top merchandise suppliers exhibiting, and 4 key speakers including the Director General of the BPMA. We held our first ever Business Awards which was really well received. The day was completely free of charge to those that attended, and the feedback was very positive with people saying it was a great way to find new products and ideas, and it was wonderful to learn more about branding. It was also a good opportunity for the Impamark team to meet so many of you and I am sure it will be something that we will repeat again in the future.

As a team we take training very seriously and we have all visited various supplier factories to learn more about innovative branding processes, as well as attending different trade shows across the UK so we can bring you the latest product information.

In November we exhibited at the Chelmsford Showcase for Business and also sponsored the Essex Hairdressers Under 25’s Competition, with fantastic prizes for the winners, gifts for the judges and goody bags for all attendees.

We have also raised £133 for Essex Wildlife Trust via a fundraising raffle in April, and we recently held a Macmillan Coffee Morning and raised over £270!

We would like to remind you all that Chinese New Year, (CNY) is 5th February which will mean that orders for delivery pre CNY will need to be placed before 20th December. Any orders placed in January will be delivered in March. In addition to this we don’t know at this stage what the effect of Brexit will have on our industry supply chain. Therefore, we strongly encourage everyone to place orders in December and January for any events or requirements in the first three months of 2019.
